 M530 Quick-Scan Infrared Spectrophotometer

The Buck Scientific Model 530 IR is a dispersive infrared spectrophotometer which scans like a UV/Vis Spectrophotometer in the mid-infrared region (4000 - 600cm-1, or 2500.00 nm - 16666.67 nm) with a resolution of <3cm-1 from 4000cm-1 - 2000cm-1 and <2cm -1 from 2000cm -1 - 600cm -1. We use aircraft grade aluminum for all Buck instruments and powder coated textured finish for corrosion resistance. The M530 is an accurate and simple IR Spectrophotometer which is built to last and easy to maintain.

The new design uses stronger stepping motors providing faster completion of “Go-To” commands. The Model M530 display is a touch screen. There are no buttons or switches on the face of the instrument. Touching the display screen accesses all of the instruments standalone functions. Spectra can be viewed on the instruments display screen during scans. This allows running survey scans without using a companion computer. Simplified stand-alone reporting provides tools for presenting measurement values as ratios in either Percent Transmission or Absorbance scales.

The M530 is the easiest IR spectrophotometer to operate and maintain. Touchscreen controls set all instrument parameters for operation and rapid data collection. Advanced self-help menus are user friendly even on complex applications. The unit does not require purge of moisture and CO2 prior to use, allowing for fast and easy sample analysis. Our Turn-key system has the lowest per-sample cost, and is half the cost of any other equivalent system! The rugged design and quick serviceability result in long term cost savings for your laboratory. You will find that the M530 is the most cost effective infrared system available anywhere.

Educational Gas Chromatography system

The Educational GC system is ideal for undergraduate chemistry classes with labs. Configured on the ultra compact 310 chassis, the Educational GC can include either a a Catalytic Combustion Detector (CCD) or Thermal Conductivity Detector (TCD).

Educational GC with CCD

The Gas-less Educational GC includes a built-in "whisper quiet" air compressor and a CCD detector. The CCD detects combustible (hydrocarbon) molecules, and it operates on air carrier gas from the air compressor. This GC is perfect for teaching situations where compressed gas cylinders cannot be used due to safety considerations or budgetary limitations. Because it operates on its own infinite supply of room air, the Gas-less GC may be used to perform demonstrations in the classroom, instead of the lab. Most conventional GCs require helium gas. Compared to the ongoing cost of cylinder rental, storage and gas consumption, operation of the Gas-less Educational GC is essentially free, except for the minimal cost of electricity. The Gas-less Educational GC system is equipped with a built-in, single channel PeakSimple data system, which provides powerful yet easy data acquisition, as well as temperature programming for the column oven. Fast cool-down fans automatically cool the column oven at the end of the analysis from 250oC to 50oC in less than five minutes.

BLC-10 Isocratic HPLC System

The BLC-10 can operate to system pressures of 3000 PSI. It comes equipped with the standard "PEEK" valve. There is no pressure read out on these units. System pressure is obtained using the Peaksimple software. Our fixed wavelength systems are available in either "SS" or "PEEK"" configurations for the same price.

The BLC-10 comes standard with either a PEEK or SS analytical flowcell dependent the users option. A preparative flowcell, semi-preparative flowcells and a microbore flowcell are also available.

The pumping system on all the instruments is a high quality single piston pump with a built in pulse damper. A two-stage injection valve with a 20µl loop is standard.

Pump flow rates are from 0.01ml/min to 10ml/min. The BLC-10 HPLC has a very sensitive, and stable filter photometer for routine assays at the most common wavelengths. The BLC-10 comes equipped with a 254nm fixed wavelength filter photometer. 280, 365, 420, 505, or 540nm filters are also available. The BLC-10 comes complete with a column, fittings, a pump and injector hardware for instant setup and analyses.
