Kylie Fawcett, a student at Bridgeport Regional Aquaculture Science and Technology Education Center, will demonstrate how to use Buck Scientific’s BLC-30 HPLC system with a Refractive Index Detector and PeakSimple Software to find caffeine in beverages such as coffee, tea, regular soda, and diet soda. She will provide a quick guide as to how to prepare your sample, inject the HPLC, and how to use the PeakSimple software to find the presence of caffeine in certain beverages.
